Our next retreat is Mon - Wed, June 23 - 25, 2025!
The New Orleans Writing Marathon is excited to announce that our summer retreat is set for Monday, June 23 - Wednesday, June 25. We hope you can join us for three full days of writing together in New Orleans. If you can't make all of it, you can tailor it for whichever days work for your schedule.
The retreat is for adults. We welcome anyone who wants to write, regardless of experience level. This includes writing teachers, novices, published writers, and anyone who wants to spend a day or two or three focused on their writing. It also includes all genres of writing—fiction, creative nonfiction, poetry, flash fiction, memoir, or anything else your writing soul brings forth.
Daily marathons begin at 10 am with a morning gathering, followed by writing in small groups around the French Quarter and beyond. We will meet back together at 4:30 pm for an evening read-around. Morning and evening gatherings will be at our host venue, BK Historic House & Gardens, located at 1113 Chartres Street.
Cost is $25 per day or $60 for all three days. Registration is required and capacity is limited, so register soon to secure your spot.
If you’d like overnight accommodations, our host hotel is the Hotel Provincial, located at 1024 Chartres Street, just a few steps from BK House.
